In past generations couples were more likely to get hitched in their twenties. My mom was married by the time she was twenty two. That boggles my mind. She justifies it by saying that is just what people did when they were in love back then. My generation is a bit more hesitant to tie the knot. That is somewhat of a blanket statement but for the most part in personal experience only a few people I know have gotten married in their twenties who were born part of Generation Y. Why is this? That is debatable. We live longer, more people are scared of divorce, there is less pressure from society to get married young, countless movies talk about marriage being the pits—the list goes on. Those reasons don’t sway some young couples from getting married though.

This morning my boss called me into his office and said that he needed to ask me a favor. This weekend I was out at the beach celebrating my husband’s birthday and I thought I lost a gold earring. These particular earrings were some that my husband had given me for our 10^th wedding anniversary and they are very special to me. Sometime during the day I reached up to scratch an itch on my ear and the gold earring was gone. From there I went into a panic and started looking all around for it, but knew that I’d been to so many places that I would probably never find it. Several of the people at the party helped me look for the gold earring, but as I suspected it was nowhere to be found. I ended up taking out the other earring that I was wearing since I knew it looked odd wearing just one. That evening when we got home I told my husband that I had lost the gold earring and was crying about it and telling him how heartbroken I was. He promised to order me a new pair and headed off to the bathroom for a shower. Five minutes passed and he walked out with a gold earring in his hand. I thought it was the one I’d taken off, but instead it was the missing earring. I’d never put it in, but instead left it on the vanity in the bathroom.

It is October and each day that passes by brings us closer to Halloween. Some of us will not have to wait all the way until the 31^st to throw on a costume. Costume parties are acceptable any time this entire month. The local theme parks where I live have already opened up their haunted house sections to the public. A bunch of my neighbors already decorated for the holiday. Halloween is in the crisp fall air. My friend said she is going to dress up like a 80s hip hop artist. She isn’t picking anyone in particular but immolating the overall b-boy style of the time. That means she needs gold and lots of it.

She has the gold earrings and gold bracelets covered. Now she needs to find a fat gold necklace. In the sake of saving money a fake gold necklace will work too. In some prior posts I have mentioned how much I adore white gold bracelets, and how appealing and alluring that I find them to be for me. Well my wife happens to know this very well also. We recently celebrated our ten year wedding anniversary and she offered me this gorgeous white gold bracelet as a gift to mark the occasion. I really was speechless when she gave me that gift and I carefully opened up the packaging on it, revealing the white gold bracelet that she had placed inside of it. It was like I was on cloud nine, only Cupid was there and he shot me in the heart with an arrow of romantic love. The sparks flew that night my friends. Who says that guys don’t like getting a white gold bracelet for a gift? Or for that matter that men don’t enjoy it when the wonderful women in their lives spoil them with great gifts. When it comes to my thoughts on this matter, I can never be spoiled enough by her love, and I enjoy every minute of it!

White Gold Bracelet was Huge Surprise

I was so surprised this weekend when I woke up to find a note from my husband that he’d gone to play golf. That part wasn’t so surprising, because he plays every weekend weather permitting, but beside it was a small white gold bracelet and a note saying he loved me. As soon as I saw the white gold bracelet tears came to my eyes and I called him saying that he shouldn’t have. He was just getting ready to tee off so he didn’t have a lot of time to talk, but said he knew I’d been really going through a difficult time lately and he thought that the white gold bracelet may bring a smile to my face. He was right about that! I walked around all weekend on cloud 9 and even shared it with the masses on my favorite social networking website. I had this awesome white gold bracelet that my parents gave to me as my thirteenth birthday present, which was nearly eighteen years ago today. I took really good care of that white gold bracelet, and over time it was still as nice as it was the day that I was given it. But, a few weeks ago I somehow misplaced that white gold bracelet, and I was very saddened, as there was a high amount of sentimental value that was attached to that white gold bracelet I had cherished over so many years of enjoying wearing it. No matter where I looked, to no avail I was unable to find my missing white gold bracelet. Then, over this past weekend, when I was cleaning the house, I finally uncovered it. It was hiding underneath a cushion on the couch in my living room. The white gold bracelet must have become unclasped and fallen into the couch when I was watching TV. Overjoyed, I picked it up, and easily used some pliers to fix that clasp. Now I have my favorite bracelet back!

I bought the most amazing dress at the outlet this past weekend and when I got home and tried it on, I realized that I really need some sort of unique jewelry to really set it off. I will admit that I spent some time browsing in the massive amounts of jewelry that I have, but nothing seemed to be exactly what I needed. I have a great gold bracelet that will go with the dress, but I think that a simple unique jewelry necklace will really make the dress pop. I also need a pair of shoes, but I’m still undecided as to what type of shoes I want to wear, so that can wait. Since its raining and I don’t want to get out in it, I think I’ll spend some time online this morning looking for some unique jewelry. This morning I woke up to find that my husband had already gone to work and didn’t wake me before he left. Beside me on his pillow was a small box and inside it was a beautiful gold bracelet. I was at my mother in laws last night and I noticed that she was wearing a silver bracelet that I’ve never noticed her wearing before.
